UTA New Year's Holiday Service And ‘EVE' Celebration Info

The Utah Transit Authority advises riders of its service plans for the New Year's holiday and encourages the public to avoid parking and traffic congestion by taking public transportation to "EVE" events, Dec 29-31.

  • Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 29-30 (EVE events): Regular weekday TRAX, FrontRunner and bus service. No EVE wristbands allowed-riders must have valid proof of fare payment.

  • Thursday, Dec. 31 (New Year's Eve/EVE events): Regular weekday TRAX, FrontRunner and bus service.

    TRAX will operate until approximately 1 a.m. The last FrontRunner train to Ogden will depart Salt Lake Central Station at 12:45 a.m. Additional trains will be put into service as needed to meet demand.

    EVE celebration wristbands are valid for a free ride on TRAX and FrontRunner (on Dec. 31 after 3 p.m. ONLY). Children accompanying an adult with a wristband may also ride TRAX and FrontRunner free.

  • Friday, Jan. 1 (New Year's Day): Ski bus service only.
    No FrontRunner, TRAX, or regular bus service on New Year's Day.
