Ride UTA’s newest rail line and enjoy food and entertainment on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Draper TRAX Line community celebration. Admission is free for those who bring a can of food to donate to the Utah Food Bank.

Each of the Draper TRAX Line stations will feature food and family activities. The Crescent View Station at 361 E. and 11400 South will have donuts, balloons and face-painting. At the Kimballs Lane Station, 700 E. and 11796 South, you can enjoy shave ice while getting your picture taken at the Polaroid photo station. The Draper Town Center Station will have a tee-shirt decorating table for kids and commemorative Jones Soda for the whole family.

The community celebration starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. Passengers can ride the line for free with a can of food until 6 p.m. You can find more information about the Draper Line here.

The Draper TRAX Line begins regular service on Sunday, Aug.18. The 3.8-mile line was designed to help shorten commute times in the southeast corner of the valley and allow Draper residents to connect to the rest of the UTA rail system. The opening of the Draper line marks the completion of UTA’s FrontLines 2015 project, which has added more than 70 miles of new rail lines to the UTA system in less than seven years.
