The Utah State Fair opens this week, and the event is now easily accessible from the TRAX Green Line. Just ride the new Airport TRAX Line extension to Fairpark Station at 1150 West North Temple. You’ll be steps away from all the fried Twinkies and Ferris wheel rides your heart desires.

The Utah Transit Authority wants to mark the occasion by giving riders free fare on their way back from the fair. Simply buy one-way fare. Once you arrive at the fairgrounds, get your fare pass stamped at one of the entry gates. You can use this stamped fare pass to board a UTA train or bus on your way home from the fair – no need to buy a return trip pass.

UTA will also be giving away 25 fair passes each day until the Utah State Fair opens on Thursday, Sept. 5. We’ll be handing out passes in a different location each day, so follow us on Twitter to find out more.

The Utah State Fair opens Thursday, Sept. 5 and runs until Sunday, Sept. 15. The fair opens at 10 a.m. and runs until 10 p.m. on weekdays and 11 p.m. on weekends. For a full list of fair activities and events, visit www.utahstatefair.com.
