It’s officially summer! The weather is nice, the days are long and kids are finally out of school. With everyone spending more time outdoors, it’s extra important to remember to stay safe near public transit.

  • The only safe place to cross UTA tracks is at a designated public crossing. If you need help finding a public crossing near you, just ask. You can contact us on Twitter at @rideuta seven days a week, or call customer service Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Tempted to take pictures on our rail tracks? UTA tracks are used by our trains during service hours and may be used by freight lines after service ends. There is no safe place or time to take a photo on the tracks. If you want to document your love of transit, please take your photo on board the train or from a platform or other safe place.

  • Stay aware and use common sense around trains and buses. Stand behind the yellow line on platforms and hold children’s hands as they board. Riding bikes and skateboards on platforms is unsafe for you and other passengers and may subject you to fines.

Report unsafe behavior to UTA Transit Police by calling 801-287-EYES or texting UTATIP and your tip to 274637.
