Thousands of riders took advantage of UTA’s $5 bus and rail fare to the Utah Air Show last weekend. Preliminary data shows that nearly 19,000 rider trips were recorded on buses that ran between Clearfield Station and Hill Air Force Base.

UTA offered special $5 commemorative round-trip bus and rail passes to the show. Eighteen buses ran continuously between the Clearfield Station and Hill Air Force Base to help riders bypass traffic to and from the event. UTA also provided extra FrontRunner service on Saturday and several subsidized northbound and southbound FrontRunner trips on Sunday to facilitate travel to the base.

The effort was a partnership between Utah Air Show organizers, Hill Air Force Base and UTA to reduce traffic and congestion before and after the event. More than a half million people were expected at the two-day show, and on-base parking was limited.
