UTA, in partnership with the Salt Lake City Transportation Division, is giving away free bike safety kits from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6 at the Sugar House Farmer’s Market. These bike kits contain a safety vest, a bike light, a regional bike trail map and other UTA goodies. It’s a great reminder to stay safe as you enjoy the pedestrian and cycling path that runs along the S-Line, UTA’s streetcar connecting South Salt Lake and Sugar House.

The Sugar House Farmer’s Market is located at Fairmont Park, 1040 East Sugarmont Drive, Salt Lake City. The park is just across the street from Fairmont stop on the S-Line. Bike kits are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We’ll notify our followers on Twitter at @rideuta when supplies are gone. We’ll also be handing out kits at the Sugar House branch of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake earlier in the day, for Boys and Girls Club participants only.

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more bike kit giveaways throughout our service area and at other Boys and Girls Club locations.

UTA promotes safe cycling as a great way to get to your nearest rail station or bus stop. We offer bike cars on FrontRunner, bike racks on TRAX trains, bike lockers at rail stations and bike racks on buses. We’re also partnering with cities and counties to improve bike connections to rail stations.
