Love to take pictures of UTA trains and buses? Send us your best work and you could win your choice of a $25 FAREPAY card or a UTA-branded messenger bag. Just submit a photo to utasocial@rideuta.com on or before Nov. 2. We’ll pick a few of our favorites and use them as temporary cover photos/header photos on our RideUTA Facebook and Twitter profile pages during the month of November.
Please note the following rules and guidelines:
- Photos that show identifiable faces will not be accepted. We’re looking for your best bus and train pictures.
- Participants must follow all safety rules. Please stay behind the yellow line and off rail tracks. Photos must not interfere with transit operations or violate UTA ordinances or local, state or federal laws.
- Per our personal photography rules, special equipment like lighting, tripods or drones is not allowed on UTA property without a photography permit.
- Per our personal photography rules, if you take photographs of safety sensitive areas, enter an area that is not open to the general public, or are obviously involved in a commercial enterprise (e.g., an advertising agency) and have not obtained a permit, you may be subject to civil and/or criminal penalties. You are also solely responsible for complying with all laws applicable to the photographs you take.
Additional Rules and Eligibility Requirements
This contest is limited to participants who are 18 years or older.
Photos that display recognizable faces of individuals will be disqualified.
By submitting a photo, you are agreeing to UTA’s use of the photograph submitted (“Photo”) in UTA’s promotional information and on its website, social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter), newspaper articles, and other forms of print and electronic publication and social media. You agree that use of the Photo shall be unrestricted as to location, quantity, and frequency, and may be used for any purpose and in any medium whatsoever, whether foreseen or unforeseen at this time. You specifically grant permission to UTA, in its sole discretion, to edit, alter, and/or distort the Photo, and to use the Photo in whole or in part, in conjunction with other images, graphics, text, and sound in any way whatsoever and without restrictions to the fullest extent allowed by law. The permission herein granted is absolute and final and shall not be subject to my further inspection or approval at any stage.
By submitting a Photo, you represent and warrant that you are the sole and exclusive rights holder of the Photo and that you have the right to submit the Photo and grant the permissions provided hereunder. You expressly waive and agree not to assert any intellectual property rights that you have or may have to the Photo and understand that you will not be compensated for use of the Photo for any reason whatsoever. You represent and warrant that the Photo does not infringe upon any intellectual property, proprietary, personal, privacy, or any other right of a third party.
By submitting a Photo, you do hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless UTA and its trustees, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all liabilities, damages, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Photo. You agree that all the provisions hereunder shall be binding upon you as well as your collective heirs, legal representatives, and assigns. You agree that this release is to be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah and that any dispute in connection with the Photo or arising hereunder will be brought in the state or federal courts of Utah. You agree that in the event that any clause or provision of this release shall be held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the remaining provisions and shall continue to be enforceable.
