Grade crossing maintenance at approximately 170 East Sego Lily Drive (9800 South) in Sandy is expected to create very minimal Blue Line delays on Saturday, April 29, and delays of 5 to 10 minutes on Sunday, April 30.  On Sunday only, passengers will be required to board and exit trains on the east side of Sandy Civic Center, Sandy Expo and Historic Sandy stations. The street will be closed to vehicle traffic at the crossing starting late Friday and ending Sunday when work is complete.

Grade crossings, or the areas where rail tracks intersect with streets, wear more quickly than other sections of track due to vehicle traffic. This is the first of several grade crossing maintenance projects planned for the summer. UTA will also repair crossings at Fireclay Avenue (approximately 4300 South) and 4500 South in May and at 8720 South, 8800 South and 8680 South in August.

UTA maintenance work is planned around major sporting and community events so as to impact the least number of riders. Click here for more information about upcoming construction projects and UTA’s state of good repair planning process.
