The first University of Utah game is just than a week away, when the Utes kick off against Southern Utah University on Sept. 1 at 6 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium. We’ll have direct buses from Salt Lake Central Station and extra TRAX trains to help get you to the game on time. Your University of Utah football ticket doubles as UTA bus and rail fare on the day of each home game, making it even easier to get to the stadium and cheer on your favorite team.

Rider Tips

Traditionally, we see high ridership in September as events like football games, the Utah State Fair, Salt Lake Comic Con and more draw thousands of riders to the downtown Salt Lake City area. Please consider the following tips to make your trip as pleasant as possible.

  • Arrive early. Take the stress out of your travels by giving yourself some extra time to navigate crowds and make connections when headed to a major event.

  • Allows others to exit before boarding a train. Stand aside and allow riders to get off the train before attempting to board to help us load and unload passengers efficiently.

  • Use FAREPAY. Avoid lines at ticket vending machines by pre-purchasing a FAREPAY card at a UTA customer service location or retail outlet. *Please note that your game-day ticket serves as UTA fare for University of Utah football games and other select events.

  • Follow us on Twitter at @rideuta. We’re available seven days a week to answer transit questions and concerns. We also post service alerts and rail delays of 10 minutes or more on our Twitter feed.
