UTA currently owns 60 acres of land east of the platform at the Clearfield FrontRunner station. Davis County and Clearfield City have asked to purchase 28 acres of this land to use for a manufacturing facility, with an option to purchase an additional 8.75 acres for future expansion. The site would be used by Stadler Rail, a Switzerland-based train car manufacturing company, as their North American headquarters. If approved, facility is expected to employ up to 1,000 people over the next 10 years.
The UTA Board of Trustees is seeking feedback on the proposal, and more information can be found by clicking the accompanying links. UTA invites the public to share their thoughts by filling out the form below, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 801-743-3882 (select option 5).
