December 2012 Route Changes

    New Routes

    Route 534
    The route 534 will replace the eliminated route 347. It will operate during peak hour with peak directional service. It will provide a connection for existing 347 passengers to the South Jordan Station where they will transfer to FrontRunner. The route will operate on weekdays with two morning inbound trips and two afternoon outbound trips.

    Route F526
    The route will connect the Draper FrontRunner station with the Riverton LDS Office Building. It will operate on weekdays during peak hours with a 30-minute frequency.

    Modified Routes

    Route 3
    The route will be modified to provide additional service from FrontRunner to the downtown Salt Lake City. Modification will help eliminate redundant service on South Temple and to create a connection from the FrontRunner at Salt Lake Central station to City Creek via West Temple and connect the LDS Church Office Building. The route will operate on a 30-minute frequency from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays.

    Route 6
    The route will be modified to provide additional service from FrontRunner to the downtown Salt Lake City. The route was modified to create a connection with FrontRunner at the North Temple Station to destinations along North Temple from 400 West to State Street and also have a connection to LDS Hospital in the Avenues. The route will operate on a 30-minute frequency from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, Saturday and Sunday.

    Route 209
    The route will be modified to provide additional service from FrontRunner to the downtown Salt Lake City. This route will extend from where it currently ends at 100 South State Street to the North Temple Station. It will provide additional connections with FrontRunner to destination along North Temple from 400 West to State Street. The route will operate on a 15-minute frequency from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

    Route 218
    The route will be modified to service the South Jordan FrontRunner station. This route will connect the South Jordan FrontRunner station to the Sandy Civic Center TRAX station. This route also will connect Salt Lake Central station to areas along Redwood Road from North Temple to 10600 South. The route will operate on a 30-minute frequency from 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays. 

    Route 500
    The route 500 will be significantly modified into a downtown bi-directional circulator. Starting and ending at both the Salt Lake Central station and the North Temple FrontRunner station, this route will cover 400 S., State St., North Temple as well as service to the State Capital. The route will operate weekdays on a 30-minute frequency from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    Route 516
    This route has been modified to provide additional service from FrontRunner to the downtown Salt Lake City. The route will extend from where it ends at 200 South State St. to the North Temple FrontRunner station. It will provide additional connections with FrontRunner to destinations along North Temple from 400 West to State Street. It will operate on a 30-minute frequency from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays.

    Route 517
    The route was modified to service Salt Lake Central via 600 West instead of 300 West. It connects the Salt Lake Central station to areas along North Temple and to the State offices at 1950 West Garside Ave. The route operates on a 30-minute frequency from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.


    Discontinued Routes

    Route 347
    This route was eliminated and replaced with Route 534 (see Route 534).
    New Routes

    Route 809
    The route will connect Eagle Mountain with the American Fork FrontRunner station. The route will operate on weekdays with three morning eastbound trips to the American Fork FrontRunner station and three afternoon westbound trips to Eagle Mountain.

    Route 821
    The route will connect cities in southern Utah County to the Provo Intermodal Center (and FrontRunner station). It will operate on weekdays with 30-minute frequency during peak hour service and 60-minute off peak except mid-day and Saturdays with a two-hour frequency.

    Route 834
    The route will connect the Provo Intermodal Center to the Riverwoods shopping center with stops along Freedom Blvd. and north University Ave. with a stop at the Utah Valley Convention Center. It will operate hourly on weekdays and Saturdays.

    Route 836
    The route will connect southwest Provo to the Provo Intermodal Center (and FrontRunner station). It will operate during peak hours with 18 trips on weekdays and 14 trips on Saturdays.

    Route 842
    The route will connect Orem East Center St. and west 800 North with the Orem Intermodal Center. It will operate hourly on weekdays.

    Route 853
    The route will connect the Adobe building, IM Flash building and other northwest Lehi destinations with the Lehi FrontRunner station. It will operate with 16 trips on weekdays.

    Modified Routes

    Route 805
    The former express service will be modified to connect southern Utah County to the Provo Intermodal Center (and FrontRunner station) with connections to the local bus system. The route will operate on weekdays with six northbound trips in the morning and eight southbound trips in the afternoon.

    Route 806
    The former express service will be modified to connect Saratoga Springs with the Lehi FrontRunner station. The route will operate on weekdays with three eastbound morning trips to the Lehi FrontRunner station and three westbound trips to Saratoga Springs.

    Route 807
    The former express service will be modified to connect Pleasant Grove, Cedar Hills, Alpine, Highland, IM Flash building and the Adobe building with the Lehi FrontRunner station along the Timpanogos Highway. The route will operate on weekdays with seven morning trips and seven afternoon trips.

    Route 811
    The Utah County-to-TRAX connector route will be shortened but additional stops will be added including the Lehi FrontRunner station. The route will operate on weekdays with 30-to-60 minute service, Saturdays with 40-60 minute service, and Sundays with 13 trips. Route will no longer service American Fork FrontRunner Station.

    Route 822
    The BYU/Payson shuttle will be modified to connect southern Utah County with the Provo Intermodal Center (and FrontRunner station) and with BYU and UVU. The route will operate on weekdays with four northbound morning trips to BYU and UVU and four southbound afternoon trips to Payson. 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. peak hour trips connecting South County to BYU and UVU, two mid day trips will service south county to BYU only.

    Route 830
    The route will be modified to connect Provo Intermodal Center (and FrontRunner station) to the Orem Intermodal Center with major stops at Provo Town Center (route will not service Provo Town Center Mall), BYU, University Mall and UVU. The route will operate on weekdays with 15-minute service during peak hours and 30-minute service during off-peak hours and on Saturdays with 30-minute service.

    Route 831
    The route will be modified to service the Orem Intermodal Center, UVU, BYU, 7 Peaks Resort, Provo City to the Provo Intermodal Center (and FrontRunner station). The route will operate on weekdays with 30-minute service and Saturdays with hourly service.

    Route 832
    The route will be modified to connect the University Mall, Provo LDS Temple, BYU, 900 East Provo, and Provo Center Street to the Provo FrontRunner station. This route will operate on weekdays with 30-minute service and on Saturdays with 90-minute service.

    Route 833
    The route will be modified to connect the Orem Intermodal Center with stops along Geneva Road and the southwest part of Provo to the Provo Intermodal Center. This route will operate on weekdays and Saturdays with hourly service.

    Route 850
    The route will be modified to connect the Provo Intermodal Center (and FrontRunner station) along State Street to the American Fork and Lehi FrontRunner stations. This route will operate on weekdays with 30-minute service and Saturdays with hourly service.

    Route 862
    The route will be modified to connect UVU to the University Mall and northeast Orem. This route will operate on weekdays with 30-minute service and Saturdays with 90-minute service.

    Discontinued Routes

    Route 801
    Express service connecting central Provo and southern Orem to Salt Lake City.

    Route 810

    Route 817

    New Routes

    FrontRunner
    FrontRunner will resume limited service to Pleasant View on weekdays with one morning trip and one evening trip.

    Modified Routes

    Route 616
    This route has been modified to hourly service to accommodate resumed FrontRunner service to Pleasant View. The route will operate three trips from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. and five trips from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

    Route 473
    This route has been modified to improve efficiency.
    FrontRunner
    FrontRunner service from Ogden to Provo will begin on Dec. 10, 2012. FrontRunner will resume limited service to Pleasant View on weekdays with one morning trip and one evening trip with no transfer required. FrontRunner will have 30-minute service during morning peak hours from Provo and Ogden to Salt Lake Central station. FrontRunner will also have 30-minute service during afternoon and evening peak hours from Salt Lake Central to Provo and Ogden. FrontRunner will have hourly service from Provo to Ogden during off peak hours. FrontRunner will operate with 90-minute service on Saturdays.

    TRAX
    TRAX service on Saturdays will start later at approximately 6 a.m. and service on Sundays will end earlier at approximately 8 p.m.

    Green Line
    Green Line TRAX service will end at Arena station in preparation for limited testing on the Airport Line to open in April of 2013.
