UTA will also expand popular Group Pass to TRAX and bus On Nov. 1, Utah Transit Authority will reduce the FrontRunner base fare from $3 to $2 for travel to just one station. The incremental station fare will remain $.50 for each additional station. The maximum one-way fare on FrontRunner will go from $6 to $5 from Salt Lake to Pleasant View. "This change brings the FrontRunner fare more in line with fares on our other services," John Inglish, UTA general manager said. "Travel for one station is now $2, the same as a local bus ride. A trip from Ogden to Salt Lake is $4.50 or the same as an express bus ride." The Premium Express Monthly Pass price of $162.00 will not change; it is valid on all UTA fixed-route buses and trains, including FrontRunner and express buses. In addition, the popular Group Pass, which was originally a summer promotion on FrontRunner, has been extended and expanded. Beginning Nov. 1, the Group Pass will be valid on FrontRunner, TRAX and buses. The pass is good as a day pass for up to four people any time during regular service hours. Cost is $12. "The Group Pass has been very successful on FrontRunner and expanding it to TRAX and bus was a natural next step," Inglish said. "It's a quick and convenient way for friends or family riding together to pay their fare, whether they are going to a game, concert or just travelling to the same destination." In addition to its fare changes, UTA will extend its Sandy/Salt Lake TRAX service to include Salt Lake Central station on Nov. 1.
