UTA is growing! This section of the web site will bring you the latest information on the the design, development, construction and implementation of UTA's expansion projects.
BRT: The new 35th S. Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line will provide faster, prioritized bus service down 35th South from Magna to the 3300 South TRAX Station.
TRAX: UTA is working on several new TRAX extensions that will connect the existing TRAX light-rail lines to the Salt Lake International Airport, Draper, Mid-Jordan (Murray, Midvale, West Jordan and South Jordan), and West Valley. There is also a short extension under construction in downtown Salt Lake City to the Salt Lake Intermodal Hub. Transit studies and planning are also underway in the Sugarhouse area and for a new West Valley Intermodal Hub.
Commuter Rail: The first stretch of the new FrontRunner commuter rail line in nearing completion and is expected to open in spring 2008. Commuter Rail North will run from Pleasant View (north of Ogden) to the Salt Lake Intermodal Hub in downtown Salt Lake City. Commuter Rail South, which will extend the line from Salt Lake City to Provo, is in the early planning stages and is projected to be completed in 2012.

Programs
The following UTA programs are designed to promote mass transit and its benefits for Utah and its citizens.
UTA Rideshare is a program to promote carpooling, vanpooling, bikes, buses, and other alternatives to the one car-one driver scenario. Save money and help the environment at the same time!
Local artists have a chance to showcase their talent to thousands of people daily through UTA's Art in Transit program. Transit art enhances the passenger's traveling experience and showcases elements of community identity, history and values.
The School Education Program introduces children to UTA and educates them how to use public transportation, with an emphasis on safety, self-confidence and helpful UTA resources.
Seniors on the Go is a program to help encourage seniors to stay mobile and active by providing safe, reliable and low-cost bus and light rail service to popular destinations across the Wasatch Front.
