Project Overview
South Davis County has been the subject of several transportation studies. The proposed project originated from three previous planning studies: the Legacy Parkway Supplementary Environmental Impact Statement, the Wasatch Front Regional Council South Davis Transit Needs Analysis, and the Wasatch Front Urban Area Long Range Transportation Plan Update: 2004 – 2030. In 2008, it was analyzed as part of the South Davis Transit Study Alternatives Analysis (AA). The AA examined several transit alternatives between Salt Lake City and Farmington, including diesel multiple unit, light rail, street car, bus, and bus rapid transit. A range of alignments for these alternatives were considered. To see a copy of the AA report, click here. To see a map of the rail alternative recommended in the AA, click here.
UTA has prepared a Draft Environmental Study Report (ESR) for the South Davis Transit Corridor project that defines the purpose and need for the project, alternatives considered, potential for environmental impact, and mitigation measures that might relieve potential impacts. A 30-day public comment period for this Draft ESR will occur from February 15, 2010, to March 16, 2010. Comments on the DESR must be postmarked, e-mailed, or faxed to the South Davis Transit Corridor Project by March 16, 2010.
Comments can also be submitted in the following ways:
- By e-mail to southdavistransit@hwlochner.com
- By fax to (801) 801-415-5850 (write “Attention South Davis Transit Corridor Project” on the fax)
