University Parkway Diagonal (800 East, Orem - University Avenue, Provo)

UTA and UDOT are starting utility work on the Provo Orem Transportation Improvement Project (TRIP) on Thursday, July 28. This pre-construction phase consists of utility work and property acquisition which must take place prior to larger components of TRIP construction. Work includes relocating overhead power lines, water and gas lines, fire hydrants, water meters, traffic signals, street lights and storm drains. To accommodate utility work, some curb, gutter and asphalt will be removed. It will also be necessary to remove the trees in the center of University Parkway between University Avenue and Carterville Road. Once the project is completed, three times as many trees will be planted in their place.

UTA, UDOT and Utah Valley Transit Constructors are committed to maintaining safe driving conditions, keeping accesses open and keeping the public informed about construction. For safety, drivers should pay attention to shifting traffic lanes and follow flaggers' (traffic control personnel) directions. A 24-hour hotline is available to the public resolve construction issues and concerns: 1-888-661-8806.
