Airport TRAX Lines Construction
Welcome!
Construction progress continues on the Airport TRAX Line. To keep business and traffic impacts to a minimum, this six-mile project has been separated into seven construction “reaches,” or segments, for management and planning purposes. The map below shows each construction reach in a different color, starting with Reach 1 in dark red by the airport and ending with Reach 7 in light green on the east end of the project.

A unique feature for the UTA Airport TRAX Line is the “ribbon of color” that is starting to appear from one end of the project to the other. Crews are currently installing poles to accommodate the overhead wiring system that come in many different colors and shades. Each transit station will have its own color scheme to provide a sense of orientation.
General Information
Access during Construction
UTA is committed to maintaining 24-hour access to all of the businesses and residences along the construction corridor. We will coordinate with businesses in cases where access may be temporarily limited.
Construction Hours
Construction is permitted to take place between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Additionally, specific activities may require different working hours depending upon conditions and will be coordinated with city officials.

Traffic/Pedestrian Restrictions:
Right lane restrictions along Bangerter Highway just north of the I-80 off-ramp entering the airport are in place Monday through Friday, and occasionally on Saturday.

Current Construction:
Between the hours of 9 p.m. and midnight on Thursday, Sept. 6, westbound travel lanes on North Temple will be closed at 800 West as crews use cranes to set TRAX station canopies in this area. Eastbound travel lanes will be maintained throughout this work. Detours will be in place for westbound traffic around this area.
Concrete crosswalks are being installed at 900 West and 1000 West on North Temple.
Roadway striping is scheduled to take place between 1000 West and 600 West toward the end of August.
Landscaping and irrigation work continues throughout this reach.
Various items related to the overhead wiring system continue in this area.

Traffic/Pedestrian Restrictions:
Traffic on the North Temple Viaduct is restricted to one lane in each direction as crews continue working on the bridge. Please use caution and follow the posted speed limits in this area.
