On Nov. 18, UTA partnered with the Clark Planetarium to celebrate the opening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, briefly turning Planetarium Station (200 South 400 West) into Platform 9 3/4.

Hundreds flocked downtown to attend the exciting release party, taking the “Hogwarts Express”  via Platform 9 3/4 before moving inside to “Hogwarts” to be sorted.

Inside, the Planetarium hosted a number of fun activities – from potions class, to care of magical creatures, a great time was had by all.

Clark Planetarium is a great option for parents who are looking for something fun to do with their kids, for 30 minutes or a couple of hours. They have on-going, fun, educational activities for kids of all ages and the the best part? There is a TRAX stop right outside their door.

Best transit route: TRAX to Planetarium Station (200 South 400 West). Several bus routes also pass by Clark Planetarium.

Cost: The cost for this special party was $15 and included a variety of gift items, however regular admission for shows is $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. There are also affordable family membership options available.

Hours of operation: Opens at 10:30 a.m. seven days a week. Closing times vary depending upon the day.

Other perks: Great, kid friendly staff; stroller friendly; clean bathrooms; reasonably priced gift shop; good rainy day or cold weather activity.
