Utah has been home to a strong Greek community since the early 1900’s when the population exploded due to mining- related job growth. The local Greek Orthodox parish was one of only 14 recognized in the United States and remains one of the largest parishes west of Chicago.

UTA originally recognized the city’s Greek influence with the naming of Old Greek Town Station at 525 West 200 South – located in the heart of the city’s original Greek settlement.
