  1. Having Sunday Service operation on this date is great. However I really don’t think having my bus route five o nine which operates in the area of Discover Financial Services at twenty five hundred south forty eight hundred west Lakepark Boulevard having it operate as a weekday only bus route is really right espeacially when it heavily affects Paratransit and cab ridership along with it and also Discover Financial Services is a national business which operates more like a national chain bank and department store which stays open on the twenty fourth and doesn’t recognize the holiday and Discover Financial Services gets its best business on this date like it does on all of the regular business as usual days of the week and weekend dates. I really think by this bus route choosing to only operate on weekdays service only is really a poor business decision when Discover Financial Services has really chosen to do this as well as not operating on nighttime hours therefore forcing me to encroach on my parents to have to be able to get to work on July twenty fourth or else not work and take the paidtime off vacation time but in reality I would much rather work on July twenty fourth just like all other recognized Sunday Holiday times of the year.

  2. I think the schedule for the Wednesday July 24 is perfect. I always ride UTA I was very worried that UTA might not work. But since they decide to give us the weekend schedule, I think is awesome. Thanks UTA.

  3. Hi,
I am just wanting to know the best routes for Wednesday, july 24th (Pioneer Day). I need to get to my job on this day. These are the places:

    1. ARRIVE before 9:00 am:
    – From: 587 S Elizabeth St, Salt Lake City, UT, 84102
    – To: 3900 Wasatch Boulevard, Salt Lake City, UT (park and ride at 3900 wasatch blvd)

    2. DEPART after 12:15 pm:
    – From: 3900 Wasatch Boulevard, Salt Lake City, UT (park and ride at 3900 wasatch blvd)
    – To: 587 S Elizabeth St, Salt Lake City, UT, 84102

    Thank you!

    1. Not happening. The first bus that arrives @ the PnR is at 0942 (RT33). So, while TRAX is an option for meeting that bus (your normal red line), there is no way you can arrive before 9am. As for the return, RT33 leaves the PnR at 1226 arriving at Highland Dr. at 1239. The RT220 passes that point going NB at 1255 which will pass close to Elizabeth St. (on 1300 East). I find it unlikely that our friendly UTA rep. can provide you a better option than this.

  4. I couldn’t agree more, setting up for a sunday schedule on the 24th is a huge pain and in my opinion a poor career choice. I admit it is better than the zero service I was thinking would be about, but still need to be able to get around and won’t be able to get where I need to on this limited schedule.

  5. The Trax lines don’t start running until around 10 am on Pioneer Day? I work downtown for a finance company associated with the stock market. Believe it or not, the New York Stock Exchange does not recognize Pioneer Day as one of their holidays. With parking downtown being atrocious with the parade, what do you suggest I do to get to work at a decent hour? The Sunday schedule is not a suitable solution when many more people than you are willing to admit still have to work on this state holiday. It isn’t a federal holiday, so banks, post offices, and so forth are still open.

  6. I’m glad that this Pioneer Day ride schedule info is out here on this blog. It should also be on the main page. Thanks

  7. Only about half the people in SL County or Mormons the rest of us are more concerned with getting on with are daily activity’s which include travel to and from are destination(S) then we are with the days activity’s on this state holiday (July 24). I realize that the Mormons are both the political and the ruling class in this state and you have a need to respect there state holiday but if your’e going to inconvenience everyone by going to a Sunday schedule for a state holiday you should at least consider offering reduced fares for that one day.
