The Transportation Security Administration has recognized the Utah Transit Authority for achieving their highest security rating. UTA was one of 16 public transit agencies to receive a “Gold Standard” rating  on the 2012 Baseline Assessment for Security Enhancement (BASE), which recognizes dedication to building a strong security program.

The BASE program analyzes factors like an agency’s security plans and training, drills and public outreach efforts. UTA attained high scores in all BASE categories.

“The UTA is to be commended for their commitment and hard work that this level of achievement requires,” said TSA Administrator John S. Pistole. “TSA recognizes the continued dedication individual transit agencies demonstrate every day to ensure the security of travelers nationwide.”
