UTA Offers Extra Service for April 19th Events

UTA Offers Extra Service for April 19th Events Date posted: April 10, 2014

Saturday, April 19 is going to be a busy day along the Wasatch Front, with sporting events, community activities and Easter celebrations happening across the valley. Whether you’re headed to the Salt Lake City Marathon, Salt Lake Comic Con, the University of Utah spring football game or one of the many other events taking place, consider riding UTA. Parking at many downtown venues will be limited due to the number of people attending festivities that day. We can help you avoid traffic jams and crowded lots, and we’re extending select services to help you get to and from your destination.

You can use UTA’s Trip Planner to find the fastest route to a location. The trip planner will take into account extra trips and early service scheduled for April 19. Don’t forget about our group pass, which allows up to four people to ride FrontRunner, TRAX and buses to and from events for just $15 after 8:30 a.m.

Please note that UTA services will run on a regular Saturday schedule unless listed below, with detours to some Salt Lake City bus routes until approximately 8:30 a.m. due to the marathon. Bus routes 2, 3, 6, 21, 33, 39, 45, 200, 205, 209, 213, 220, 470 and 516 will be impacted. For information on bus detours, please contact UTA customer service at 801-Ride-UTA.

  1. Hi
i want to ask the bus 220,39 time and route on April 19th.
I am not sure if i can take bus 220 or 39 at 6:30 and get Marathon place at 7:00? Thanks!

    1. Hi Amber, I don’t believe that bus 39 runs to the marathon starting point. Bus 220 will be on detour that morning so as not to interfere with the marathon route. Your best bet is to take TRAX Red Line to the stadium. If you need trip planning assistance, please call 801-RIDE-UTA.

  2. For Sat. 4/19, your website says that you have an early Red Line train leaving Central Pointe going to Daybreak at 4:23. Is this an error, should this train be heading to Medical Center? Trying to plan logistics for the SLC bike tour and half marathon. Thanks

    1. Hi Lorrie, it’s not an error. We have early-morning trains headed both directions on Saturday. The earliest train to Medical Center will depart from Daybreak Station at 4:09 a.m. It will reach Central Pointe at 4:43 a.m. and arrive at Medical Center at 5:09 a.m.

  3. I am looking for the free TRAX passes to print out to go to the Spring football game this Saturday. It was mentioned in the Deseret News on April 16 and I cannot find it on your site. Please help me locate it. Thanks

    1. Hi Steve, we typically don’t post detour schedules online. If you have questions regarding a specific route, you can contact us on Twitter at @rideuta or by calling 801-RIDE-UTA.

    1. Hi Steve, you’re right. We do post detours there. Unfortunately, the software to update the page isn’t working correctly. We’re hoping to get it fixed as soon as possible, but if you need information regarding tomorrow’s detours, please call customers service at 801-RIDE-UTA or contact us on Twitter at @Rideuta.

  4. I need to get to the 5K start (Washinton Square) by 6:45 at the latest. I am coming from the Rose Park area. Suggestions?

  5. Is UTA running a shuttle bus that goes directly from Salt Lake Central to the game at the University of Utah on the 19th like you had on normal game days?

  6. “Saturday, April 19 is going to be a busy day”

…forgive me, but isn’t Saturday actually April 18th? The calendar above is Monday thru Sunday, which may account for the error, but I can tell you that I was very confused by the mis-date of Saturday in the information above.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

    1. Hi Tara, this blog post is actually from last year, so the information may be outdated. We’ll have updated information on the 2015 marathon coming soon.

      1. Great! Any idea on how soon “soon” is? :) I’m attempting to put together information for a company that is almost entirely boxed in by the marathon route and time is definitely of the essence as the marathon is in 3 days.

  7. I live on 3900 so , me and my family were going to the zoo tomorrow , 213 ,and 39 stops say they will be closed. 1. is there another bus we can take up there? 2. will 213 and 39 be closed off all day?
