This Valentine’s Day, we’re bringing some sweet fun to FrontRunner riders. On Wednesday, Feb. 14, catch the 6:16 p.m. train at Provo Central Station or the 6:07 p.m. train at Ogden Central for comedy, bingo, and a chance to win prizes along your trip to Salt Lake Central. All are welcome on these special Date Nite Trains — the only thing required is your regular UTA fare.

Date Nite Train Ticket

After your FrontRunner trip, Salt Lake Central Station provides an excellent jumping off point for more transit date night adventures. Remember, your FrontRunner fare transfers to bus, TRAX, and S-Line for 2.5 hours after purchase. Here are a few transit-friendly adventures for everyone:

Watch

  1. Catch a movie at Larry H. Miller Megaplex at the Gateway and then enjoy one of the 17 food and drink options — including HallPass, a robust and lively food hall.
From Salt Lake Central: Take the TRAX Blue Line to Planetarium Station.

  2. Share the romantic evening with the famous Ballet West and their performance of Swan Lake. Tchaikovsky’s music will be brought to life with breathtaking choreography from local talent. As an added bonus, the costumes worn by the performers are ones that Taylor Swift used for her “Shake It Off” music video.
From Salt Lake Central: Take the TRAX Blue Line to City Center Station.

  3. Watch the Utah Jazz go head-to-head with the Lakers at the Delta Center this Valentine’s day. Taking transit will make your night hassle-free!
From Salt Lake Central: Take the TRAX Blue Line to Arena Station.

Move

  1. Skate in the heart of Downtown Salt Lake City — or, as the mayor has referred to it, the city’s living room — at the Gallivan Center. It’s easy to rent skates and hop on the ice. You can take a break and enjoy the light exhibits placed throughout the center and then walk downstairs for a delightful mix of food and drink options.
From Salt Lake Central: Take the TRAX Blue Line to Gallivan Plaza Station.

  2. Yoga, climb, or take a fitness class at the Bouldering Project. It’s a small, welcoming gym in the Granary District. Afterwards, you can enjoy a bite at Slackwater or pick from numerous options inside the Woodbine Food Hall or enjoy the vibe at Drift Lounge.
From Salt Lake Central: Walk south on 600 West and turn left onto 700 South.

Make

  1. Looking to get more hands-on? Immerse yourself in silversmithing. Learn how to design and create your own one-of-a-kind jewelry at the Gem Studio located in City Creek.
From Salt Lake Central: Take TRAX Blue Line to Temple Square Station

Sip

  1. Downtown is your oyster! Keep it easy and close and try any of the bars, shops, and restaurants along 200 South near 200 East: Bar X, Beer Bar, Taqueria 27, Este Pizza. Head one more block east and one south and visit Gourmandise or Current Fish and Oyster.
From Salt Lake Central: Take bus Route 2 to 200 East or 300 East.

  2. Want to get a little out of downtown? The Central Ninth neighborhood offers great spaces in a very walkable atmosphere. Enjoy some of the best cocktails in town at Water Witch or make a reservation at Bar Nohm.
From Salt Lake Central: Take the TRAX Blue Line 900 South Station.
