Celebrate the start of our improved Cottonwood Canyons ski service at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, Dec. 6, at the 6200 South Park & Ride (6200 South Wasatch Blvd.). Grab a complimentary Waffle Love waffle, learn more about how our ski service works, hear from sustainable transit advocates and watch the Flying Ace All-Stars acrobatic ski team in action. Parking is limited, so please consider riding bus route 72 to the event.

Ski Service Improvements

We’ve worked with local ski resorts to improve our ski service to Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. The changes are designed to make it easier to get to the slopes, reduce canyon traffic, increase ski bus frequency and trips, add parking and improve connections with TRAX and FrontRunner. Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon service has been streamlined to three routes: 953, 972 and 994.

Ski bus improvements include:

• Fifteen-minute service during peak times and 30-minute service the rest of the day, seven days per week.
• Thirty-five percent more ski service trips.
• A ski bus connection with FrontRunner and TRAX at Murray Station.
• Nearly 300 additional parking spots for ski bus riders (made available by rerouting some ski bus connections to serve the Murray Central TRAX/Murray FrontRunner Station and the Bingham Junction TRAX Station in Midvale).

UTA 2016-2017 Ski Service Schedule

Friday-Sunday, Dec. 9-11: Service to Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird and Alta

Friday-Saturday, Dec. 16-17: Service to Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird and Alta. On Dec. 17, service to Powder Mountain and Snowbasin begins, as well as new route 677 from Layton FrontRunner Station to Snowbasin. Sundance service also begins Dec. 17, however it does not run on Sundays.

Sunday, Dec. 18 – End of 2016-2017 Ski Season in April: Regular weekday and weekend ski service to all participating resorts.
