What You Need To Know

From Monday, July 6, to Saturday, July 11, crews will perform maintenance and repairs on the TRAX Red, Blue, and Green lines between Ballpark Station and downtown Salt Lake City. This work will impact service on all 3 lines through the following segments:

  • Blue Line and Green Line: Ballpark Station to Gallivan Plaza Station
  • Red Line: Ballpark Station to Library Station
  • Two bus bridges will be in place to connect riders around the construction zone. Expect delays of 30 minutes or more while using bus bridge service.
  • To plan an alternate route, use the Transit app.

Regular TRAX service on all 3 lines will resume Sunday, July 12.

What To Expect

  • Service on the Red, Blue, and Green lines will be disrupted between Ballpark and Gallivan (Blue and Green) and Ballpark and Library (Red) stations for the duration of the project.
  • There will be no bus bridge stop at 600 South Station. Riders should board the nearest bus bridge at Courthouse Station.
  • Main Street will be closed to through traffic first between 600 South and 700 South, then between 500 South and 600 South. The road will reopen Sunday, July 12, for regular traffic.
  • Traffic conditions on 600 South will change throughout construction, including a partial lane closure. Please use caution when traveling near the work zone and follow all posted traffic control and detour signage.
  • From Gallivan Plaza Station north to the end of the line, trains will use low-floor boarding, and the high blocks will be closed. From Ballpark Station south to the end of the line, high blocks will be open as usual.
  • Nearby residents and businesses may experience noise, nighttime lighting, dust, and vibration due to construction activity.

Why This Is Happening

These improvements are part of ongoing efforts to keep the TRAX system safe, reliable, and running efficiently. Regular maintenance minimizes future construction impacts and improves service quality for all riders.
