UTA’s New Electronic Fare Collection System

Project Overview
UTA is replacing its fare collection system. This is a multi-year project to replace all electronic fare systems including ticket vending machines (TVM), bus and platform validators, inspection devices and a new mobile ticketing option. With this new system, riders will be able to purchase and reload FAREPAY cards at the ticket vending machines and pay their fares from their smartphones to prepaid, reloadable rider accounts.

Project Timeline
Phase I: Replace all system TVMs with new TVMs with full feature functionality by the end of 2024
Phase II: Replace all bus and platform validators
Phase III: Prepaid reloadable accounts on your phone
