Our friends at Transit are rolling out a new feature to meet the needs of the moment. As a UTA rider and Transit app user, you can now share how crowded your bus is via the Go feature on the Transit app.
Since we're partners with Transit our riders get to try this out a month before general users.
Here's how it works.
Download the Transit app if you don't already have it (which you should). Tap GO for step-by-step navigation. Once you're on the bus, it asks a simple question: How crowded is the bus? Your anonymous response will be shared with other riders for the next 10 minutes before expiring. Of course, this works on TRAX and FrontRunner as well.
You can find more information about this feature on Transit's site.
Give the Go Crowding feature a try. The more people use this feature, the more useful it will be.
In short, it allows you to in real-time relay information to your fellow riders, allowing them to make different choices about where and when to board. At the same time, we continue to monitor ridership closely and adjust as needed to support social distancing.
Let us know what you think. You can share online or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
